The Holiday Stroll 2023 had a very heartwarming and successful year. With your help, over $3,600 was collected for Hamilton Food Share. With these funds Hamilton Food share will be able to purchase over $18,000 worth of food to fuel their mission to fight food insecurity in the local Hamilton community.

Dear Staff and Residents of St. Elizabeth Village:

Thank you so much for your generous support over the holiday season!

It’s been a difficult year for many people in our community. More than 11,800 households are relying on our emergency food banks each month, which is a 40% increase from the year before.

This is why your St. Elizabeth Village Fundraiser was so important. Donors like you help feed the thousands of people looking for help each month. Thanks to your collective contributions of $3,627.96, we raised $18,139.80 worth of nutritious food for our member agencies operating 23 emergency food programs across the city.

Your fundraiser ensured our neighbours had access to healthy food and warm meals.

Your gifts helped us feed the hundreds of children lining up at a food bank each day.

And your support allowed us to put food on the table of those in need, so they didn’t have to choose between groceries or rent.

Together you provided comfort, security and relief to families in Hamilton. We truly can’t thank you enough for that.

Hamilton Food Share

Operating for over 30 years, Hamilton Food Share is the city’s Emergency Food shipping and receiving hub, and Emergency Food Systems Coordinator for the network of agencies it supports. Providing food resources to 16 member agencies, operating 23 emergency food programs, over 4.3 million pounds of
nutritionally rich food is delivered to food banks and hot meal programs, ensuring that people living in poverty have access to healthy good food for themselves and their families.

We want to express our gratitude and appreciation to our Residents, the local and extended community for all the support shown for our events.

There are over 1,000 active, 55+ Residents at St. Elizabeth Village that are proud to support each other within the St. Elizabeth Village community and are prominent supporters of the broader Hamilton community. We are proud to say that with the help of the Hamilton community, over 16,000 pounds of food has been collected since 2020 and over $17,000 in purchasing power raised for Hamilton Food share in 2023.
